The Anchorage Correctional Complex, also known as Anchorage Prison, is a medium-security state prison holding adult female inmates in Anchorage Borough County, Alaska. The first one is minimum security confinement with 100-beds capacity while the second unit is 90-bed confinement for special management. Other facilities include a medical section, a maintenance area, a dining area, canteen, gym, and correctional industries. The Anchorage Correctional Complex is one of the few state prisons in the United States using the latest technology in keeping the inmates, visitors, and prison officials safe.

The Alaska Department of Corrections maintains a database for all the inmates held at Anchorage Correctional Complex. The sender is to use the U.S. Postal Mail to deliver the correspondence to the inmate. Upon arrival, the mails and packages are opened and checked for contraband. Any correspondence contravening the prison’s rules and regulations shall be returned or destroyed.

Inmates at the Anchorage Correctional Complex have access to a Commissary account where they can receive and use funds for personal items. Family and friends of the inmates top up the commissary accounts using JPay. It is a convenient money transfer option allowing the sender to transact from their smartphone anytime, anywhere. Still, easy way to deposit the funds is via money order sent through the U. S. Postal address. The sender should indicate the inmate first and last names at the back of the slip.

Inmates at Anchorage Correctional Complex are allowed to make call collect to persons as per the approved member’s list. Inmate visitation time at the Anchorage Correctional Complex is on Saturdays and Sundays.
