The Valdosta State Prison, also known as Valdosta Prison, is a medium-security state prison holding adult female inmates in Lowndes County, Georgia. This prison has two living units capable of holding up to 1510 offenders serving long sentences. The first one is minimum security confinement with 100-beds capacity while the second unit is 90-bed confinement for special management. Other facilities include a medical section, a maintenance area, a dining area, canteen, gym, and correctional industries. The Valdosta State Prison is one of the few state prisons in the United States using the latest technology in keeping the inmates, visitors, and prison officials safe.
