The Louisville Metro Department of Corrections is located at the City Court Building of the Louisville Police Department, Jefferson County, in the state of Kentucky. It serves six cities in the region, holding inmates charged for misdemeanor offenses. The inmates stay at the city jail temporarily for not more than three days as they await release or transfer to the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections. The city jail is under the supervision of the Louisville Police office.

Sending Money

Members of the public can send money to inmates at the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections by depositing the cash into the Jail Funds. Here, there is an inmate account where inmates can withdraw funds and use them at the kiosk or jail lobby. Members of the public can use their debit or credit cards to deposit funds either online or via their phones.

Phone calls

Inmates at the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections can make 15-minute collect calls to persons outside the facility. Here, the recipient bears the cost of the call. Or, the inmate receives an advance payment to their telephone account, allowing them to cater for the cost of the phone call. Third, an inmate may decide to pay for the phone call using funds from their commissary account. No incoming calls are allowed at the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections.
