The Lincoln County Jail is a modern correctional facility located in North Carolina. The jail features a 168-bed establishment with a modular, direct–supervision system aimed at upholding not only the safety of the general public but also members of the facility, including staff and inmates. The jail holds inmates across all levels of offenses, from maximum to minimum offenders. The Lincoln County Jail was opened in 2002 as a replacement for the-then existing linear-style jail. The facility’s direct-supervision arrangement helps to enhance the safety of all stakeholders through compliant behavior. Jail officers can mix with inmates, and this way, identify and handle unwarranted issues head-on and in time.
