Sending Money

Detainees at the Newport News Farm are allowed access to a Commissary inmate account. Here, the detainees can receive money from friends and family members to cater to their personal items from the facility’s kiosk. Money is sent via cash, check, or money orders. The senders are to indicate the full names and booking number of the detainee at the back of the check or money order.

Phone calls

The Newport News Farm allows detainees to make calls to their friends and family members. The facility contracts Securus Technologies, a prison telecommunications company, to provide the phone service to the inmates. To use the Securus service, the detainee and the receiver must have an active account created at the firm’s website. Also, the detainees can use funds in their Commissary account to make calls. Visitation
